HOW TO PLAY

Crate stacks in the hold; a full row pops with CHAIN and EIGHT on screen

Kick, stack, slam

Crates rain down from the ceiling. Kick them into place: when a pattern is complete, it starts to flash. Jump, press down in mid-air and slam onto it: the pattern pops and the points pour in.

Score tally: the FOUR pattern with chips and mult boxes

Combos, chains, huge scores

Score = (chips + crates) × (mult + combo). Pop another pattern before the timer runs out and your combo grows. Full rows, vertical fours, blocks, eights: every pattern has its own value and level.

The shop: gear cards, a charm and loot crates for sale

Shop, gear, charms

After every stop: the payout and the shop. Over a hundred pieces of gear, charms, blueprints and loot crates: every voyage you build something completely different. Balatro fans will feel right at home.

Each voyage is two islands and a boss. Skip an island and you get no loot, but you earn a tag reward. Beat the captains and cross their faces off the Blacklist one by one.

Every captain has a quirk

The Kraken drags crates into the depths, the Chief Gunner rains cannonballs, the Mallet Captain topples your stacks, Frost Reis freezes everything, the Flying Dutchman brings the fog. At the end, one of four admirals awaits.

CAPTAINS

Each of the 21 captains has their own ability and their own walk. Captain Frost leaves a trail of frost, Blackbeard puffs on a cigar, Nine-Lives Nell runs on all fours, Springy Sam jumps again in mid-air, The Turk pushes three crates at once.

A BET IS A BET

Captain Knuckles was the biggest show-off on the seas. One evening the head of the Blacklist showed up: the Crimson Admiral. A race, and the loser gives up everything. THUNKO was way ahead… until, just before the finish, the mast cracked.

That night, on a raft in the middle of the storm, he swore an oath.
